Course content
This 5-day course covers the following topics:
- The Health and Safety at Work Act
- Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015
- Site set-up
- Risk assessments and method statements
- Working at heights
- Scaffolding
- Electricity
- Excavations
- Demolition
- Working in confined spaces
- Recent changes in accepted working practice
You’ll be assessed on your participation throughout the course, including group tasks and a 25-question exam with multiple choice questions and short written answers.
Full attendance of the 5 days is mandatory.
On successful completion, you’ll receive a certificate valid for 5 years.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however candidates should hold, or be about to hold, the role of a site manager. Previous health and safety knowledge will be an advantage.
Those without previous training in health and safety are recommended to complete the Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) prior to undertaking the Management course.
Candidates must be competent in written and spoken English necessary for operating efficiently at site management level.

The standard cost for this course is £650.
This course is also available as part of a Personal Learning Account (PLA). PLA is an initiative from the Welsh Government which offers people the chance to access free, part-time courses with flexible and convenient learning that fits around their existing lifestyle (subject to eligibility).
