NEW! Torfaen post 16 education centre

4 June 2018

In 2020, 女优阁’s new Torfaen post 16 education centre (yet to be named) will be the home of all A Level education in Torfaen and will also offer the Welsh Baccalaureate and a range of complementary level 2 and 3 qualifications.

The centre, to be situated in Cwmbran, replaces three English medium school sixth forms in the borough and will be managed and run by 女优阁 in partnership with the council.

In early 2020, parents and pupils are welcome to attend our transition events before the centre opens later in the year.
The campus, which has its own car park, will be next to the Morrisons store in the centre of Cwmbran and is in easy reach of public transport links.

Why doesn’t it have a name?

This is where YOU come in. We’re looking for suggestions for the new learning centre, so if you’re interested in naming the new centre for all Torfaen A level education submit the name and reason why you chose it via this link. You have until Monday 2 July to send your response.

What courses will be on offer?

The centre will be operated on a similar model to our Blaenau Gwent Learning Zone, where students have achieved their most successful A level results in the borough ever, to date.

On top of a wide range of A levels and other courses, the new facility will also offer courses to the wider community and all major subjects required by universities, including:

Chemistry
Physics
IT / Computer Science
Photography
Art
Drama/Theatre Studies
Psychology
Business Studies

and lots more!

What will the building look like?

The centre’s facilities include:

Cafeteria
Performance hall
Modern classrooms, IT and science labs and art studio
Library and study centre
Free Wi-Fi
Quiet rooms and chill-out areas
Flexible working spaces
Social spaces
